Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition is reportedly the first dual-disc PS5 game. As evidenced by an image posted by the ‘Is it playing?’ Twitter account, the base game, the Burning Shores expansion, and some digital goodies all account for 121GB and will be available on the two discs included with the physical edition. The game is scheduled for release on Friday, October 6, beating out the upcoming Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, which was also scheduled for release on two discs. This move is a big win for console owners who value physical media – or more accurately, the ability to access games anywhere, anytime without limitations like a constant internet connection.
The hefty new edition costs $59.99 (approximately Rs. 4,999) and includes a Horizon Forbidden West digital art book, a digital soundtrack, Horizon Zero Dawn Vol. 1: The Sunhawk digital comic book, a few additional poses and makeup in photo mode, and some outfits that can be unlocked through in-game progression. As previously mentioned, this is all wrapped up in the critically acclaimed 2022 RPG, which charts the adventures of young hunter Aloy across a majestic post-apocalyptic frontier in the hopes of protecting humanity from a contagious red blight. There’s also the Burning Shores expansion – released in April – which turned the city of Los Angeles into a volcanic archipelago and brought with it new hunting machines.

Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition is also coming to PC, albeit sometime in early 2024. Nixxes Software, the PlayStation in-house carriers that brought Spider-Man Remastered to PC, have taken on this task and the release will indeed include all of the above. bonus content. There’s no word yet on PC exclusive features, but looking past ports, we can hope for keyboard and mouse compatibility, in addition to support for ray-tracing, Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR-based upscaling technology, and we can experience the game’s beautiful vistas on ultra-wide screens. This adds to haptic feedback when using the PS5 DualSense controller over a wired connection.
For now, it looks like PlayStation will continue to stick to CEO Jim Ryan’s promise to bring exclusive PS games to PC two or three years after the initial launch. Only time will tell whether this will change after his retirement in March next year. In May, developer Guerilla Games confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West sold 8.4 million copies on PS4 and PS5, with the franchise as a whole – including the prequel Horizon Zero Dawn, the Frozen Wilds DLC and the PS VR2 game – selling 32.7 million copies sold. At the time, the team also claimed that Aloy’s adventures would continue in a sequel.
Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition will be released on PS5 on October 6.
