Hathaway was a guest on The Tonight Show last night, where she made a surprising confession: She hates her stage name, and would much prefer you call her “anything but Anne.”

“Call me Annie, everybody, everybody, call me Annie, please,” she said at the start of the interview. “It’s…can we talk about my name for a second?”

According to Hathaway, she despises being called Anne, but got stuck with the moniker when she was forced to choose a professional name for herself at 14.

“When I was 14 years old, I did a commercial, and I had to get my SAG card and they asked me, ‘What do you want your name to be?'” she said. “And I was like, ‘Well, it should be my name. My name’s Anne Hathaway.’ So that seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, people will call me Anne.”

Hathaway went on to reveal that in her personal life, nobody calls her Anne, which is kinda mind-blowing.

“The only person who calls me Anne is my mother and she only does it when she’s really mad at me, like really mad,” she said. “So every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me.”

And she explained that, when she’s on a film set, the crew has to come up with “workarounds” so they don’t call her Anne:

People are like, “Anne!” And I’m like “What? What did I do?” People are so lovely they don’t want to be presumptuous and so I think they come up with workarounds on set because the truth is nobody’s comfortable with calling me Anne ever. It doesn’t fit. I’m an Annie.

So, what are you supposed to call her? Hathaway offered a few suggestions if you don’t like “Annie.”

“People call me Miss H, people call me Hath, so feel free, call me anything but Anne.”

Wow. Ya learn somethin’ new every day. Sorry, Annie!!!

In fact, fans on Twitter have been swooning over the pair since the show’s premiere. So, here are some of the most wholesome — and funniest — tweets that sum up everyone’s love for Wanda and Vision:

2.

i just read that the reason vision kisses wanda’s hands all the time is because that’s where her powers come from, and she hates her powers but he loves everything about her and now i need to go lie down

3.

wanda looks so happy and in love while looking at vision, it breaks my heart to think that by the end of the show, she will probably lose him once again

4.

the 70s is gonna be the peak of wanda and vision’s relationship before they have the twins 🌝 they look so adorable

6.

i laughed so hard when vision couldn’t handle the air and wanda is just like “😁”

10.

#WandaVision

when I realise Wanda will have to leave her reality and Vision will be gone 💔

What’s The Best Penultimate Episode Of TV

You’ve heard of season finales, but penultimate episodes — the episode right before a finale — don’t often get as much love. And they should! There are some really fantastic ones out there.

For instance, Game of Thrones always BROUGHT IT with their penultimate episodes. Remember Season 6, Episode 9, with “Battle of the Bastards”?

We can take it way back to Heroes with the epic penultimate episode in Season 1: “Landslide.”

Or maybe you watched The Good Place and thought Season 4, Episode 12, “Patty,” was an incredible setup for what happens in the finale.

We want to hear from you! What do you think the BEST penultimate episode of TV is — and why? Let us know in the comments below for a chance to be featured in a BuzzFeed Community post!

Bridgerton Yellow Street Line Error

Published

on

By

Bridgerton has taken the world — and my loins — by storm. Millions of people have watched and rewatched this series even though it only came out a month ago.

Netflix

The Christmas gift that keeps on giving.

When one rewatches a program, they tend to notice things that didn’t notice on the first or fifth watch. Well, this Twitter user noticed a lil’ modern day error in the pilot:

Oh dear, modern yellow no parking lines on the street in the tv drama ‘Bridgerton’.
I’ve worked on a few films/tv shows as historical consultant and art department, I remember our lot painting over modern white lines on a street or covering the whole street with earth 😉

I immediately was like, WHAAAA??? So, naturally, I had to go back and find this line and, lo’ and behold, there she was!

I was curious about the origins of street lines, so I ~asked Jeeves~ and found out that these first appeared in the 1950s!

Seeing as how Bridgerton takes place in 1813, I think it’s safe to assume that this was a lil’ mishap.

Netflix

Or perhaps Queen Charlotte was ahead of the curb (no pun intended)! Who’s to say!

All I know is, with a show this intricately designed, I’m not one to judge if someone perchance made an anachronism.
